On 6th February the Malawi Mission held a Bilateral meeting with the Head of National Media Authority Basam Habib at their headquarters in Cairo. The main agenda of the meeting was to review the memorandum of understanding between Malawi Broadcasting corporation and Radio and Television Union.
Head of International relation appreciated the initiative taken by the Malawi Mission which will assist the two nations in exchanging their experiences in the media industry. Furthermore, her institution will work towards implementing the same and if the Mission feels that there is anything to amend from the old MOU, that should be done and necessary procedures will be followed in order to ensure that those amendments have been included.
In his presentation, the representative of the Mission Trade and Tourism Attache Abdullah Mdala commended the suggestions to amend the MOU especially at this time when both organizations have experienced growth like the merge that has happened at Malawi Broadcasting corporation (MBC) and the change of name from Radio and Television Union to National Media Authority in the case of Egypt.
The other areas of incorporation where amendments will be required are training and exchange visits for senior media management
