Malawi has elected its sixth President, His Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy CHAKWERA and Vice President Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus CHILIMA.
Malawi Electoral Commission on 27th June, 2020, declared Dr. Chakwera winner of the Fresh Constitutional Court sanctioned Presidential Elections held on 23rd June, 2020. The initial elections were held in May, 2019 and were overturned by the Court following allegations of irregularities.
His Excellency Chakwera took Oath of the Highest Office as President of the Republic of Malawi while Right Honourable Chilima took Oath of the office of the Vice President on 28th June, 2020 at Malawi Square, BICC in Lilongwe.
