Her Excellency Ambassador Catherine Kunje presents Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Tebboune of Algeria

On 27th May, 2025, Her Excellency Ambassador Catherine Nurujean Kunje presented Letters of Credence to the president of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria His Excellency Abdelmadjid Tebboune, accrediting her as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malawi to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, resident in Cairo, Egypt. The function took place at the Presidential Palace in Algiers. After the presentation of credentials Her Excellency Ambassador Kunje held a brief meeting with the President of Algeria in which they agreed to strengthen trade agreements especially in the Agricultural Sector as Algeria depends on imports in products such as tea, cotton, tobacco and coffee.

Prior to the presentation of credentials to the President of Algeria, on 26th May, 2025, Ambassador Kunje presented copies of Letters of Credence to the Minister of State who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Algiers. After the presentation of copies of credentials the two held a brief meeting in which they agreed to revamp trade agreements in areas of mutual interest. Apart from Algeria, The Malawi Embassy in Cairo is also accredited to Jordan, Oman, Palestine, South Sudan, Sudan and Turkiye.
